So this little guy swam into my net yesterday.
Anyone know what it is? Is it easy to keep in a reef set up or should I just throw it back?
Or maybe use it for live bait?

It sure looks like a powder blue tang.

AFAIK they do well in large tanks, but are very sensitive fish.

I think I'm going to throw it back.
As it gets older it will probably loose its bright juvi colors and go a dull brown?

Ok, ok, I'll come clean, here is how it went down:

"I had a raging headache from drinking too much wine the previous day.
All in a good cause mind you, kept me lubricated while working on my tanks.

Last thing I felt like was diving yesterday. In fact, I called it off, then decided it would be a real waste of a day, so got my gear together and went down anyway.
Conditions weren't great, wind was blowing. The swell on the sandbank was mirking up the water a bit.

ShaneO wanted to go dive this gulley, it didn't look good.
Swell was pushing the water in and out and it wasn't even that clear.
Got in reluctantly, grumbling this was a real waste of time.

Suddenly the bubbles cleared and this little guy was right in front of me. Lifted my head and shouted for help. Put it in again, the PB was still there. Frantically trying to unfurl my net, watching this guy dart in and out of a crevice. In what seemed like an eternity, I managed to untangle the net. In the back of my mind was waiting for the next wave surge to come rolling in and see my PB disappear in a cloud of bubbles and sand.

Placed the net with my left hand, and started coaxing with my right. He dived straight into the net !!! This whole episode from seeing him, to the catch couldn't have taken more than 15 sec, but boy was that a long time.

My first Powder Blue catch - wooohoooo !"
