Please ID alligator looking fish

    Not sure what it is but looks like an alligator head.

    Its a species of flathead. Highly predatory! Was it caught locally? If so probably a small bar tailed flathead.

    Yeah was caught at North Pier. Not showing any signs of being a predator. Very calm and not troubling any other fish.

    Yep, as mentioned, flathead (Platycephalus sp.). Ambush predator.

    they are very predatory, herbivorous fish do NOT look like that, the upturned mouth is for ambush hunting, wont actively hunt fish, but won't turn down opportunity
