    Hi MASA,

Hope you guys are good on this hot Sunday. I need help with putting and ID to this algae. It starts of looking like blue feathers and then turns green. And the leaves look like a fine fern. Sorry for the bad pics got a bit of reflection on the glass. It's growing right in front of my wave pump. So it loves extremely strong flow.

Bryopsis. You've got a long battle ahead of you :( If it's just one clump on one rock then I would advise taking that rock out and throwing it away or at least breaking off the bit where the algae is growing.

Oh damn. What is the cause of it @viper357? It is only on the one spot on one rock. Will hydrogen peroxide not do the trick on it?

I will put the entire rock in a plastic bag, drive at least 10km and through it away in someone else's bin.

Do not take changes with this, do not try to get it of the rock, once it starts spreading, it is very difficult to control it, and nearly possible to get rid of it.

I lost an entire tank to it once, started as two strands on a new coral.

Agree with @viper357... Get rid of the rock ASAP!!! Bryopsis have caused me to completely shut down my previous tank & completely start over after a 6 month battle of plucking algae every day & pasting epoxy over the affected areas.
Trust me. Its 100 times cheaper to chuck the rock out & get yourself some new rock that to restart your system!
If you happen to notice any more springing up over the next few weeks. Remove that rock as well (or break out the piece where they grow.)
Hydrogen peroxide does work, but I would only recommend using it if the bryopsis is on a coral or frag that you really want to save!
