    Hi guys,

    I've got a RSM250 , running now for 6 weeks. I've got a huge invasion of GHA.

    Water parameters:
    NH3 - 0 - 0.25
    NO2 - 0.05
    NO3 - 0
    PO4 - 0
    Alk - 9.5
    Ca - 470
    Mg - 1600
    PH - 8.4
    Salinity 1.026

I removed all the standard filtration sponges and currently running 250g Orca Nitra Guard with the bomb method , Purigen , and Orca Phospa-guard. These running now for 4 weeks.

I know my Mg and Ca is high. What advise can you guys give me to get rid of the GHA??

    Thank you

As long as your PO4 is low, give it time!

Carbon dosing is a no no with bio cubes... The bio cubes works with yeast... and therefore its not recommended to use carbon with the cubes, the carbon source is in the water column, there for it will slow down the process of the cubes...

The only way is to wait it out, patience... reduce your photo period to 5 hours a day. Get pool gobler bags, with clear pipe, use it to suck up the GHA to the sump through the pool gobler bag. It is vital to manually remove the GHA, all GHA dying will leach nutrients back into the system... It can be that the live rock is leaching po4...? How long is the system been running???

Dude it sounds like your system is going through a cycling period. So this is normal for GHA to form, it will disappear on it's own once your system balances out give it time. Remember this hobby/addiction is all about patience.

Well the ammonia and nitrite explain all.

    Do you understand why?

@divan, your tank is still busy cycling...
I would suggest adding a bacterial addative like seachem stability or prodibio biodigest to help your cycling period along...
It will also help your bacterial colonies to form on your bio-cubes!

    Than you for the response.

The ammonia and nitrite means that the tank is still cyclingn process. Am I right Nemos Janitor?

Would you recommend that I stop the NoPoX dosing?

Is the 250ml Bio Cubes enough for my system?

I'm using Microbe Special Blend , must I use Seachem Stability with it or what?

    Thank you all again

    Cheers

See its always better to ask!

Would never have known that the cubes and NoPox work against each other.
