They are the same species (some debate this) but come from different locations. Often aquariusts who do not know, pay the same price for the black as they do for the blond. Just thought i would bring this to the fore for those that do not know.

Here is a little info/link for those that want to take it further.

Blonde Naso Tang, Elegant Unicornfish, Naso elegans, also: Indian Orangespine Unicornfish

Is there a problem with the same price? I have often wondered about the difference between the two 'types' you posted. If in fact they are different. Nice to know finally

Scuba, in the US the Blond is more expensive due to transport. In SA the other way round. Both are brill fish anyway. Now that i have told you guys this watch the price of the black dude to swim your tank go up. :whistling:

Nemo's - the fish you have posted an ID pic of - is a Naso Elegans - this is the "more scientific" naming of the "Blond Naso" or "Blong lipstick/elegant lipstick tang"......

[EDIT] the "other lipstick tang" is the naso literatus - this is the "normal" lipstick tang..... with the black dorsal fin......

If you use the scientific names then it clears things up nicely, just to let you guys know that up until a few years ago they shared the same scientific name then they changed the Haawian one to Lituratus,
