Please help identify

    1.Is this just maroon coralline algae? It's hard on the rock just like the purple stuff. Looks really cool.

    2. Is this brown thing growing on my rock a sponge? It's not hard but it's not slimy like algae either.

    3.last but not least I have this purple maroon stuff growing as well and it seems like its half sponge half coralline algae, I know it's not but looks like a mixture of the two. Any ideas?

    The redish purple on your rock looks like cyno to me but im no expert so lets see what the fundi's have to say

    I brushed it with a tooth brush and it doesn't come off. Its hard like coreline

    I also have some of that blood red stuff on my rocks. Very attractive imo. It doesn't look calcerous though. It's definitely not cyano.

    I've a fair amount of short velvety red algae on my rocks as well, this may be the "pioneer" layer, so to speak. Or the remnants thereof.
