Today whilst looking at the rocks, I noticed these brown bumps...

Now on careful inspection, I found this blue/black squidgy looking thing...

    Thanks Achilles

Funny thing is that these rocks came out of a running tank with nothing on it but algae strands. The water is the same from the existing tank with just a powehead providing some water movement...

oh no! I seriously dont want to kill them with a lack of light...

I do not have lighting as yet... Will sunlight assist in helping them? I have the bucket covered all the time and am sure this is making matters worse - but they have only developed now...

Will they grow better with lighting etc?

Any idea what the blue/black thing maybe?

    Sunlight will assist. How much
Onager do you plan to keep the rock in the bucket before moving them to a tank?

Can't ID the black thing from that pic. Will need a better pic or a more thorough description.

Well I am hoping to have the tank up and running this week. I have live rock from the bucket and a dead rock which I want to seed. I will have a dsb being seeded with zeo stones from Dallas. I intend on dosing with stability, incl the DSB.
