Going to need a bit more info on your system and parameters before we can offer any help. How long has your tank been ruining, how long have you had the fish etc.

Like in blurry faded? Does the skin makes flakes? Thats what happend to me when my kH droped to 3:eek: lost almost all my fish, managed to safe my puffer and sailfin tang... I`m allmost sure its your kH that is too low, check ASAP and give feedback... if it is the kH, get Seachem 8.4 and dose ASAP

@Brad1234 ; dont you have test kits:eek:? If not let your pet shop do a water test and post the parm asap and when you are there take a sample of your RO water and test kH & pH... like the sound of things I think your kH is very low... and you will need to raise it VERY SLOWLY... the safest way will be Seachem 8.4

Quick question guys, which could maybe help @Brad1234 aswell as myself.

What could have caused the kH to drop so low?

    any idea why?

In my case my Ca was over 500:eek:

Mag. Ca pH & kH works in a chane reaction... lets say you got a box, you can only fit 100 balls... if 80 is Ca then there is less space for the rest... Ca & Mag. needs to be 100% for pH & kH to be correct.

What I do know is, if your kH drops and your substrate is agronite, the agronite will disolve and the Ca will increase like in mad:eek:

Thats why I check my pH & kH every 3rd day and dose according to the test results... got myself a kalk stirir to keep the pH up and I dose baking soda or Seachem 8.4 too keep my kH in place.

Let's wait for parameters before blaming kh.
Kh won't drop suddenly unless you've added something. Overdosing on calcium or decreasing ph quicky might result in the kh dropping, hence the need for test kits if you plan to dose anything.

Sounds more like some external factor. Sure you did not get some poison into the system. Spraing for ants. Or maid cleaning the cabinet with wood polish? Somebody standing in front of the tank spray anti-stink?

Else, electrical problem. Was there not an outage during the night that you are not aware of?
