    Hi gents

I have decided that before i add any more livestock to my tank i am going to setup a battery backup system.

It needs to be a simple system that automatically switches on once power trips. I am going to run a small seio(prop 1000, 5.7W rated) on it as i do not have a dsb and do not need water flowing through my sump. i just need surface agitation to provide air for the fish as its a FOWLR system.

I know i need the following:
Inverter(modified sine wave as i cannot afford a pure sine wave)
Charger(can i ues this one: Benton BX-1 battery charger )
Battery (can i use 1 of those batteries thats used for alarms or gates as i cannot afford a 102Ah battery at the moment)
    Pump(listed above)
Switch to turn it on when power goes off and to go off again when power returns.

Can someone please advise where i can get the stuff and how i would go about connecting it up? and will it work because i have a friend that runs a modified on a small return pump and it works fine i want to use a seio

Check out the Tunze flow pumps, if I'm not mistaken they can run on 12V when the power goes out, then you don't need to buy an inverter.

Can only the bigger tunze pumps run on 12V? I know you get the nano streams for like R850 or so - can they not be run on 12V?
