hi guys and gals ..
just need some advice on a PLC controller can you use it to run a system and what functions can it handle thanks in advance all advice will be appreciated

Hi Guys new on this site and new aquariam
Have my hole setup on PLC (lights heaters ext any thing u can think off)
I can help on the electrical side if wanted

I depends on the PLC. If it has a real time clock you can use it for lights. If not and only counters you should still be able to write a program to switch lights on and off, but the you will need an input to keep it on time. You can also use it to switch off pumps for a specific time and then automatically come back on. With float switches you can setup auto top up and switch off pumps if the sump runs out of water. If you have analog inputs you should also be able to run temp controller and some other probes but that will be for the real experts, ie not me.
