make sure you clean it. It says washed, but it is filthy. Should take u a couple of hours to get right and white.

Hi Timmyus - Go to Builders Warehouse - ask them for "Playsand". BUT, I would think that you just MIGHT need to put it through a sift before using it in your tank.

BUT they definitely have.... AND I Agree with Warr - wash it out many many times as well....

I checked the playsand I have last night. It doesn't actually say that it's prewashed anywhere on the bag.

Hi Gali - I don't think ANY of the play sand would be "pre-washed" otherwise it would be prohibitly expensive. As far as I understood from someone at Builder's Warehouse, that "Playsand" is actually just very white and fine sea-sand from a specific location on our coastline..... (perhaps inland where there's still dunes)....

Hi Timmyus - I am quite sure that if you used the "Philippi Sand" as suggested by Builders Warehouse (BW in Parklands do have stock though) and just wash it thoroughly, it should be perfect!!!

If you are using it for a DSB in the sump you could use silica sand [pool filter sand].
