Plastic rod for scaping

Hi guys ive been to a few hardware stores without any luck getting the plastic rods / acrylic rods

Can anyone advise on where I can get these from and what are they called ...
The store assistants jus look blankly at me

Maizey's. I just hit up the branch but had no stock of the accrylic rods in the sizes I wanted. I also found the rods to be quite flexible, I did not like it.

What would you recommend for creating a strong scape

Honestly I have just finished the scape and instead of using lots of small pieces, I have used larger flat pieces that fit very snuggly. Pratleys, the red box quickset, has worked for me in the past, I found corals to be a little hesitant to cover it up so it does look fugly for a while but it is strong.

You can get plastic rods, acrylic pipes etc from PlasticWorld in Fordsburg http://www.plasticworld.co.za
They have done custom stuff for me before, and the service was good

What about graphite rods? you know the ones you can get for tent poles, they should be cheaply available at stores like Makro and Outdoor Wharehouse? or is Graphite rods not suitable?

I suspect the graphite rods contain some sort of metal, which won't be suitable.
