    Hi all!

It has finally begun:biggrin:. I have my marine tank. The plan origanally was to use a Boyu TL-550 and do a LED conversion on it. But things change (you see a bigger tank:thumbup:).

So this is the tank and stand

There is still some work to be done. I want to make the stand shorter, as it is way to high for me. and there will also be a cabinet added, you know you have to keep the politicians(parents) happy.

    and then the sump.

On this one im still thinking what to do. like what skimmer to use and where to connect it.

What I know im going to use and have so far:
I have the tank, salt and wavemaker.

My LEDs are on their way. Im using 10 (5 white, 5 blue). their will be more later on.

Skimmer wise im looking at Powerlab(Zayn). Btw, has any one used their hang on skimmers?

That is what I have so far.:whistling:

    Any feedback will be appreciated(needed:p)

first of all i wouldnt make the stand shorter, having it like that allows you to put a tank, equipment etc under there, trust me this will make the parents even more happy. Are you doing your own LED build or what are you planning with lights? I am also hectically into LED's and wish i had the time and money to build a LED light unit. I have a hang on BH-100 skimmer thats pump needs a new impeller if you interested. I was originally going to buy that tank, LOL and thats what i was going to use.

Yes im going to build my fixture for the LED myself. i love diy work. the reason why i want to make the tank shorter is to get it at eye level when you sit on a couch cause it will be rite next to a couch. the sump will be in there and the rest will be inside the sump or inline.

is that the powerlab one? for some reason i cant remember what he called the hang-ons...

and thx for the advice and the welcome.

BH-100 is the Reef Octo one. Great little skimmers.

If you make the stand too short nothing will fit in the stand and you wont have space to work

Ohhh! Reef octopus! Nice. it was my idea origanally to go with them but i like Powerlab's prices. and the skimmers look good. I just need to know if anyone has feedback on them and their sizes. need to see what will fit better, the reef octopus or the powerlab.

and as far as the stand goes. if you look at the picture it looks like the stand has two cubes, i just want to remove the bottom one.

The stand is about 1m high.

And I see now i didn't add dimensions for the tank. It's 600x600x500mm. Going to panorama to look at pumps now!

That's a sweet size! Yea I agree the more space in the stand the better! It just makes it that much easier to get in there! Enjoy it brew!
