Howdy peeps, I have three monti frags that are growing so well, except that every now and again one will fall off the rock I have glued it on too and into my hammer. I used coral glue, stuff that looks like pratley, but it loses it's structure and becomes brittle. What other glue is there to use to keep my frags from falling of the rock? can I use superglue, any old one?:banghead:

I have used giesemann reef putty with good results before. Got some alcolin aquamend now that I am yet to try but many use it. So it has to work. Can get it from builders.

Thanks @mauriusmeyer, geisemann is the stuff I've been using too, first few times I thought it was me that wasn't blending the two colours together enough, but subsequently, short of placing it in my cake mixer, the stuff never works. Going to get the aquamend today.

Try some superglue gel. Works wonders and sticks well. Everything I stuck with it never came out and its less messy.

Superglue GEL is the best on hard and soft application just dry the two surfaces for best result (works wet aswell)

Thanks guys! @Goolam, did you just place it on the frag and then into the tank and on the rock you want it placed on?

Yes, place it on the frag then stick it on the rock; hold for few seconds and its stuck.

Carlos if it does not set quick enough after application just squirt some water over it and it sets a lot faster. Its sometimes best to have three hands. Two to hold in place and one to pour the water over it.

    my sticky opinion

I've used super glue gel, aquamend.two little fishies, deltec, and now today actually.ecotek gel,,,,, and some others I can't remember I find that depending on situation one would use different ones....for montis plating and branching frags if you want to put it on plug, ceramic.or anything flat outside of tank super glue gel is the way to go''inside tank underwater then aquamend lekker disk will do the Job.......sticking porous stuff that's wet underwater if up straight isn't so bad..if you want them at angles its hidaously difficult......I got the ecoteck this morning,,,box says upside down against glass underwater........first three frags all fell off after ra while.......seems that the glue bubbles underwater......pointless drying the frags first

    Hi there,to anyone!!
Can the method be used with Bicarbonate of soda or salt to draw out the oxygen out of the super glue to create immediate drying, wich i can also imagine u can build a propper base for a frag

I ended up using the ecotech coral glue. Worked like a charm, but it does cost a small fortune.
