Placement of emergency air stone in marine tank

Good Day, I hope someone can give me good advice. Can I put the air stone of my ACDC air pump on the side of my tank, or need it to be in the middle of the tank.
Any feedback will be appreciated.

I would just like to elaborate as to why it can be placed anywhere, just in case you do not know. The simple answer is that any surface agitation causes an oxygen exchange, thus oxygenating the water. So as long as you have some sort of movement at the surface of your water, no matter where that movement is, then your water will be oxygenated.

Wade, thanks for your input as well. I placed it in the middle of my tank, but unfortunately that cause some splash against the cover of the tank's lights. May be I must make time to move it to the side of the tank.
(However the pump is only operational during a power outage).
