Hey guys, anyone know how i can coax my pistol shrimp out so that i can catch him, i tried "redesigning" the piece of live rock that he was in last night (very small piece of rock with holes) to get him out, but to no avail, ideas would be much appreciated:thumbup:

Um, taking all the rocks out would be no point, there are too many holes in them, what about coaxing him with food at night?

I think the pistol is still quite small, especially compared to the cleaner

Need to make a cage, like the ones for crabs. They can get in but not out.

get a clear container(small like the palm of you habd)
place cling wrap over it and fasten with and elastic band.
slice a very small slit, big enough for him to get in.
place a piece of fish or shrimp in there.
place the container next to his hole in the rock(as close as possible!)
wait till lights out and they "jump" onto the cling wrap, slide up and down it then get threw the slit.
once in remove from the tank.

worked for me a couple times!
you may have to place a little sand in it to stop it from floating away, and push it down(bury) it in the sand so that the cling wrap is level with the sand.
