    What are the tank dimensions?

On a side note - arent piranhas on the black list?

I am still awaiting on his reply regarding to the tanks dimentions. I don't think that they are red belly piranhas! I think they are red bellied PACU and yes they are both blacklisted. BTW! He doesn't have the fish anymore, only the tank.

dimensions seem good. Around the size of my DT.. Ask if he ever used any copper based medications in the tank. You will have to coat the metal stand in hammerite as the salt water will rust the stand quickly

Nope! No copper and hammerite sound like a very good idea.

Hey guys! I went to have a look at the tank today and I bought It. OMG! IT'S UGE! I just don't know how we are gona get It down a flight of stairs and where I'm gona put It. Oh and the tank was a marine tank but he got sick of the maintenance and turned It into a FW tank.

More details about the tank: Bio balls (50l drum full of It), Retun pump (2500 L/h) with a one way valve, 2 Heaters, 30-50kg base rock (It looks more like sand stone), lighting system (no bulbs), skimmer (unknown), substrate that I think is for cichlids (see pic below).

Please give me some advice on all of this stuff.

you dont need the bio balls, the return pump is a bit small, you are looking for something around 3000-4000L. The sandstone rock is not too good for filtration as its not very porous. Does the ligh system have T5 or T8 tubes?

The skimmer is most probably too small for this tank. Can you find out what it is? The substrate may not be good for a marine tank. Play sand is a cheap alternative to aragonite

I'm not sure about the lights but the hood have 2 uge box thingies under it. Kind of like this.

    The protein skimmer is homemade.

So all I have to buy Is live rock, live sand and the light bulbs? Oh and an extra 1500L/h return pump.
