    hi fellow reef masters

father said i should get of the streets and find myself a hobby. he suggested that i try my hand at marine fishkeeping. he said i should start to learn something in life. lol

it sounds harsh i know, but i guess his trying to give me something to make him proud. anyway, he gave me a budget (spoiled brat :p) and im so chuffed to get started.

i went to the local pet shop and this is what they quated me on. im taking cash to buy it this weekend.

    Its a rio 400.
3 canister filters tetra, 1 for ceramic ring, 1 for bioballs and 1 for phos and carbo media in 1 nicro bags
    150w heater
    50kg indonesian reef rock @ R249 p/kg
reef agonite x3 bags for main display
    sunsun flow heads
the lights is 4x t5 oddesee
    2x bucket of tetra salt
glass float meter for salt mix

all n all it comes to R16547. 68

    yay

    hey dude, welcome

Please shop around a little. you will see how much you would be able to get in a short time. @Quinton has a really neat cube i belive he is selling and i know he would be able to help you out with really neat equipment for a fraction of a price. its fun to get everything brand new but going the second hand route, you could walk away with at least 3x the amount of equipment and everyone is here to help with the entire set up. teach you, even show you every step

welcome to MASA. look in the sponser section of the forum idol marine and send a request to you. also just a small hint. the tank can only deliver what you put into it. if you dont give it the attension it need it will soon suffer unfortunately. everything in the marine tank is alive. from your rocks to your corals. anyhow good luck with the new hobby. it is one gr8 thing to have. and once you have been bitten it will always stick to you
