Clinton , Mark and I went for dive today to celebrate the awsome clean/ warn blue water we experienced this weekend..

we encountered some duckbill rays laying on the sandbed as well as some large leary.. it was an awsome dive and although you can see the season is drawing to a close there were a few fish still around..

    Tropicals we saw were:

    cleaner wrasse
    pommie (rhombus/striatus)
    and a few devils

i was about to call it a day when i saw one cave just begging me to take a deeper look into it.

luckily i did because i caught a pineapple fish..

i have added it to my system but im trying to find out as much as i can about them..

i know they eat small micro organisims when young and are predatory when older.. they attract the prey by using illuminated spots (glow in the dark) below their eyes to attract prey through curiosity..

i am batteling to post pics but will do so in the morning..

im pretty chuffed at the catch as i have heard theyb are fairly rare down here and i have always wanted to tick this one off my caught list..

can anyone offer more info on them for me?
