I love the way you have managed to get the cladding from the wall around the tank - it looks WAY elegant - well done Mantis

Welcome Mantis! Very nice looking tank you have there, everything looks nice and healthy. I take it that the dirt on the glass in the middle pain is in the overflow? Have u maybe thought of adding a black/blue backing to the tank as well? All in all though a good looking system

Can you maybe give us some more info on it such as dimentions, lighting u are using, maybe some pics of the sump? :)

Hi Kunhardt yes the back part is an overflow and it is abit of an eye sore . Do you recommend that I just take a piece of balck palstic and put it against the overflow from teh inside of the tank ?

    The tank is 1.3 m x 900 X 900
With the sump +- 1000 Litres
    Geismann 2 X 250 W Metal Halides and 4 95 w actinics
    reef octupus skimmer
    Clacium reactor .

I will e-mail some pics of the sump later .

lol to be honest I dont know how you would do it now that the tank is full, maybe one of the DIY guys has a suggestion. But ya ppl seem to be using black or blue perspex to cover the back which is placed inside of the tank as far as I know.

Wow... that's a great tank from the start. It may be a little early for the SPS, but with diligent maintanance, they should be fine. Before you increase your fish stock levels, you may need to add a little more live-rock, to aid in biological filtration. The slower you take things the better.

Your corals would also appreciate you dropping the lights much closer to the water surface.

hi mantis:) that tank does indeed look good but i feel you are rushing a marathon at a sprinters pace, soemthings bound to give out.

three months to have that stocking density is very fast, especially with fish like anthias in there.

also there doent look like there is that much LR or enough time for the biological systems to ahve matured and developed to breally maintan the tank. I would suggest testing regularly and being very dillegent with water changes while not adding anything more LS wise (that includes corrals) for a while.

but overall that tank does look good :)

Didn't you post a link to the build of this tank a few weeks ago Les? Or was that on an oversees forum? Was very similar nonetheless.

Good looking tank mantis! I would have to agree with Crispin about the "age" of your tank there...just monitor things very well for the next few months!

Looking forward to the engine room pics!
