Hi Guys. What are the laws with picking corals from the Ocean. Is it allowed and are there restrictions on what you can take. I am from JHB and would like to take a coral home from durban to place into my tank. Any advice would help. Thanks

As far as i know your not allowed to take any corals
You may take soft coral only with a permit and make sure the the place is not a protected area

That's it in a nutshell, only soft corals, nothing with a hard skeleton.

Yes place in quarantine tank or bucket or may want to do a coral dip just to be sure...i picked some nice looking zoas last week
Once in quarantine, what to look for ?
Unwanted pests like crabs nudis etc

Hey. Tinley manor the rocks inbetween the two car park but you have to go on a low tide. I went when it was getting dark so only managed to find the ones that has neon green insides and hairy purple tips also full green ones with like grey mouths
