    Hi All,

I am busy putting together my tank after being out of the hobby for just over 2 years.
As time goes on, I will continually update this thread with new developments surrounding my tank.

    Tank Size: 2.1m x 700 x 600

Please find below tank design and filtration system.

    Equipment:
    2 x Jager 300w Heaters
    2 x Jager 200w Heaters ( 1 inside main tank behind overflow , 1 inside mixing station)

1 x Kalk Stirrer (Yellow device in the images, still looking for this)

    1 x Return Pump (6500L)
    1 x Mixing Station Pump ( 2000L )

1 x Aquaria Marine Platinum Pro RO Machine
    1 x UAS ( Currently Designing )
1 x Reeftek Skimmer (on standby)

The sump will be exclusively run of the UAS system but will provide a design of the UAS once i have time to put it down on sketch.

Thats all for now .... feel free to provide any input.

    Regards
    Vishaal

Hi Vishaal, so you planning to run the tank with the UAS (upflow algae scrubber) as your only filtration system? You not going to run a skimmer as well?

Hi, yes that is the idea. I will keep my skimmer as a backup.

    HI Riaan,

    1 is for RO water
2 is for Fresh Salt Water to Mix
3 is to remove an exact amount of old salt water from the system when doing an automated water change.

Thanks i will review those posts. :m106:

OK, realize now that the design needs some ball valves

Haven't seen a powder coated stand in a while now.
My previous tank was powder coated. Easy to clean.

thanks for the link...is long post

    I am more interest for
1 is for RO [IMG] water
2 is for Fresh Salt Water to Mix
3 is to remove an exact amount of old salt water from the system when doing an automated water change

how they work on the plumping?
If you don't mind. Can you explain please?
your way to water change is most cheaper way to do automatic water change.

Okay so maybe I should clarify it to be semi automated. ( The automation part is purely i don't have to work around with buckets.

Tank No 1 is constantly filling with RO water for auto top off, when the tank is full i use a pump switching the ball valves into tank 2 for salt water mixing. They all the same size tanks so the water will be same across the board.

I change the ball valve again to mixing mode with Tank 2. It will use the same pump to to constantly cirulcate water in the Tank 2. The tank will have a heater as well. I need to add the salt manually.

So when doing water changes. I closed the ball valve going to sump and redirect the water to my No 3 tank to fill up. Once filled a reopen the tap to sump. This removes an exact amount of water from the system everytime. Then using the same pump I move water what the Tank no 2 to sump.

Lastly i dispose of water in tank no 1 using using ball value changes again.

I hope you understand , will try and put a picture together of just the mixin.

Can anyone think of any further automation to the above ?

Added a black background to the tank and sides.
    Did some Aquascape planning.
Then added the rocks and sand to the tank
and finally this evening i started filling the tank.
