PH of RO water

Yip 7 as anything that would make it either alkaline or acidic should have been taken out by the r/o unit

i hadn't thought about that before, it must be 7 as that is the neutral point on the litmus test.

In theory yes, but in practice no...

The pH of RO water can be just about anything :) In fact, one should not really bother to test the pH of RO water.

pH of ro water will vary according to the quality of supply water and the quality of the RO unit itself. As a given it should be between 5.5 and 7.

Point of interest: If you want to raise the pH of a new salt mix. Add an airstone and pump for 24 hours. It will bring it back up to about 8.2/8.3.

just my 2c for the newbies.for topups, kalk wasser running through a kalkstirrer or manually added to RO helps raise your ph aswell as your calcium.

Wow, go figure I would never have guessed, ok what would cause the PH to drop or raise the PH in R/O?
Purely for interest sake:)

Well, well just tested my RO and it is ph is 7.1.

So not totally neutral.

Would distilled water be measured at pH 7 ?
