    Help needed.
This is the start of week 2 of my new tank cycle and having PH issues.
I did a small water change to get teh salinity to the correct range of 1.025 but since then my PH is a mess.
First of all 1 hour after the got the salinity right i check PH and it was over 8.6.
I then proceeded to put a buffer in to increase PH only to dicover I wentthe wrong way to it push the PH higher. I then used the oppiste buffer and got it now to 8.6 or there abouts. Last night I checked the PH and it was sitting 8.3 with no skimmer running. I left the skimmer on over night and PH shot up over 8.6 again. The only stuff i am adding to my tank at this point in time is MB7. I can't imagine that it would affect the PH. What is teh best way to bring the PH to the correct levels.
Water hardness or DK is about 9.52

Drop you KH to about 8. What substrate are you using? Aragonite or anything else? How are you testing your p.H?

Why you stressing so much over the PH, the reason it is slightly on the high side is the elevated DKH. There is nothing wrong with a PH of 8.6, the only issue you will have is raising your calcium to a high level, it may hover around the 370 mark and this is also not a big issue.

Dont add anything for now. Your aragonite will maintain your p.H while you have nothing in the tank

thank you. I ned to get more aragonite as my DSB is a bit shallow. Do you recommend that I get the aragonite with the living bacteria or will the normal one do.
DSB is only about 5 cm deep don't think it is enough for a 500 L tank.

The normal one is fine. Get enough to make your DSB about 15cm thick. The size of your DSB not the depth needs to be the determining factor for your tank size. How big is your DSB?

I am using the Nutrifin and red sea PH test kits
