I just want to find out what are safe methods of pest control in the home if aquariums are kept? Mainly cockroaches and ants, and are the plug in mosquito thingies safe to use?

I always have the plug-in mosquito thingies running in the house during summer and never seen any negative effect on the tank. I dont have one very close to the tank however.
