    Hi Guys,

I'm in the process of designing a few setups and was wondering what you guys pay for perspex. Here is the prices I got and it seems a bit rediculous (prices are all per sqm):

    3mmClear R 535.00
    3mmBlack R 360.00
    5mmClear R 815.00
    5mmBlack R 915.00
    8mmClear R 1,335.00
    10mmClear R 1,900.00

If anyone can get better prices at a place that does the cutting please let me know.

Just be careful with perspex, as it becomes brittle with time. Rather use acrylic.

Guys, AFAIK Perspex is just a brand of acylic. As is plexiglass and Akrilik.

Acrylic is a group name. I don't think you can buy acrylic as such. We just happen to use the word perspex here because it's the most widely used cast acrylic.

Why go for 6mm? I plan on going today to get 1500x700 and 850x700 and 250x500 and 500x500. I was planning on 3mm...

I also want to stick it inside the tank as I think it will look better then seeing blobs of silicone on the outside?

Sims, I build the tanks with it so 3mm is not suitable for almost any size tank.
