My water always seems to have small particles in the water column. IS this common or is it possible to get super clean water? Would activated carbon help?

depending on what it is, it could planktonic or rock dust etc, adding a filter sock will help, something like 10 micron

Thanks @dallasg. Where is the best place to implement the sock. I see on the forum that alot of people connect to their overflow but my problem is that I have a skinny overflow. Can I put it on the overflow pipe that ends in my first chamber in the sump?
