Another nice idea for the panic button - is perhaps that the mods are PM'ed or emailed when this button is pressed, by someone who is in real urgent need of assistance?

Isn't it easier to just click minimise or what I do browse with the window not maximised and then just click on the window behind it, with some work in.

Nope, grabbing a mouse and minimizing a window is way to obvious and a dead give away you were not working.

It called a Boss key. Some older games had it. Just press a combo of keys and an Excell spreadsheet with mumbo jumbo pops up. Your hands still on the keyboard. No need to reach out quickly, grabbing the mouse and then point some small little thing on your screen.

But then again Alt-Tab does work. But sometimes you jump to something else that is also not work related. But is also too slow, and by the time it jumps, your boss would have seen anyway what was on your screen.

Well if its the bottom right hand corner of each post then you're looking at the posts ie. reading not typing so your hands going to be on the mouse. You need to grab the mouse to click the panic button anyway. I remember the boss key, usually the ` key top left. Maybe a nice little application would be something that lets you select a few apps you use that you shouldn't and when you press than it minimises all of them (I use opera for non work browsing). Opera has a shortcut that hides it to the tray but its ctrl-alt-shift-H which is a mission.

msn messeger came with an addon at one stage if you pressed shift + space it would hide all traces of the chat windows and the program itself from the desktop and task bar . Them to resume you would press the buttons again and you could password protect it sowas very cool

If I was a boss :)P) and found that my workers were browsing Forums, instead of working, I'd get really pissed. This is one reason this country's economy is in shambles, cause people are doing things during working hours that they not supposed to do, instead of upping production:whistling:
