Very nice little critters there, but I'm almost certain they are Fresh Water shrimp.

The most expensive aquarium fish for your designer aquarium would be the rare platinum Arowana. This 15" platinum Arowana is owned by the Aro Dynasty, Singapore based breeder of fishes. Wondering what makes this platinum Arowana so pricey? There is a special reason for it. The Platinum Arowana has to be perfectly white without any flecks of other color anywhere else on its body to become one of the most expensive aquarium fish in the world

Yeah, but that is like the Koi fish. The best colour or something is expensive, but I am talking about a rare/expensive fish eg, same as with an expensive reef fish (not because of their genes)

I do not know all the expensive reef fish, but there is a certain Tang specie that is very expensive, not because they are bred to have the certain colour, the tang specie itself is expensive. But from what I've read about the arowana, it is the same specie (platinum arowana) but the one which is the whitest. It does not say that the normal platinum arowana is expensive, or did I miss something here??

I think fish which come from some of the more inhospitable places on earth fetch the highest prices. Like fish coming from deep within the Amazon Rainforests. There are certain dwarf cichlid species which fetch huge prices (compared to common dwarf cichlid species). Altum Angelfish are very pricey as well. Obviously Discus are not cheap either. There are certain betta species which go for over R1000 per pair, but I don't think there are normal tropical fresh water fish that will fetch higher prices than some marines...
