    Hi Guys

I have a Pacific Sun 200W LED unit ( Metis CRP ). It is a 3 channel light unit and specifically for planted aquarium.

I am wondering whether it would be possible to replace the red LED's with other colours and use it on my tank? Will that work, any ideas?

The unit is 880 mm long and have two boards each with 100w of leds. In these units they used CREE XP-E white, blue and red LEDs. Channel 1 is white channel 2 is blue and channel 3 is red.

    Sanders

Otherwise I just need to sell the unit.

I would rather just get a unit that is marine ready.

That unit looks very new. Why mess up the warranty?

@RiaanP the unit is almost brand new still, used for only about 3 months. I dont have a planted aquarium anymore.

Then your only option is to start a planted tank again

@Antonio Would love to, but no space, this lamp is absolute ideal for it.

@RiaanP way to much @Vishaal to use in my refugium ( I was actually considering it, but way to advanced for that - will be a waste) .

Is there anybody that perhaps have a diagram as to how these pacific sun units are wired?

Have you tried emailing pacific sun and asking them if there is any replacement for the led's?
As I can't think you need to replace your unit if a few led's die....

If it was me, I would sell the unit rather. Also check out

More likely to get a buyer there.

Alternative is to swap it from where you bought it for a marine system, if it was a shop. Or the importer. Maybe even while paying come in. The guarantee would be gone on the unit as soon as you open it up.

Unless your soldering skills are 95 times better than mine.

not sure if pacific sun can replace the whole bank, they might.
Some advice, don't mess with the electronics in there. Rather sell it on TASA and take it from there. You will void the warranty if you open the unit.
