Good evening guys. I've recently setup my new marine tank. Unfortunately, my skimmers overflowing. I'm quite certain that it is because the water level in the 1st chamber is too high. I tried raising the skimmer, but it isn't enough to reduce the overflow.
I wanted to know if it will be fine to place my skimmer in the 3rd chamber, where my return pump is?
I have live rock in the middle chamber.

Maybe try and post a picture of your setup. The 3rd chamber is not ideal.

I moved it to the 3rd chamber and it seems to be working right. The sump isn't so lekker. It's doesn't give me much room to play with because it's so high and close to the top of the stand.

Out of interest , how high is that sump overall ? What is the height of the water in chamber 1 ?

The 3rd chamber is not ideal but if it's your only option then it'll have to do. Have you got an auto top-up device connected? You will need to keep the water level in the 3rd chamber as constant as possible otherwise a fluctuating water level will just cause havoc with your skimmer. If your skimmer is new then it can take a few days to settle in. Have you tried making adjustments with the black tube on the skimmer?

I do have an auto top up device connected. I've made adjustments to that black tube. It seems to be working really well now.
By the way, why is it not ideal to be in the third chamber?
