I bought myself an overflow box, which came with zero instructions. The guy I got it from has no idea how it works either. It is one like this Reeftek - Reef Octopus Overflow box unit

Now I understand which end goes where :) but can someone explain how I am supposed to get the water flowing correctly? In a previous post I was told it needs to be "primed"... can someone explain this process please. Also the tube that sticks up the centre, must it be just left sticking in the air, or similar to the picture above?
Sorry for the noob question, but tried to find info on the web as well.

the centre part needs to be primed as stated, this means the air must be sucked out and the pipe plugged / block. if it sucks air it will not work.

Hi, i havent seen your specific overflow box, but generally, they collect air and fail, resulting in a soaked floor. As soon as possible, replace with pipe drilled into your glass
