    Phospha-Guard Granulated Iron Media was specifically designed to absorb phosphate (Po4), silicate & heavy-metals from both freshwater & seawater. Once phosphates bond to it’s ferric hydroxide surface, it will not leach back into the system. This eliminates the inhibition of coral calcification and massively reduces prolific algae growth. Phospha-Guard GFH has a very large surface area (300m2/g) making it exceptionally powerful and giving explosive performance when compared to competing products. 1lts of Phospha-Guard GFH media removes more than 26 000ppm of phosphate / silicate or heavy-metals from 1 000lts of water!. Phospha-Guard GFH can be regenerated 3 times over making it the most economical phosphate absorbing product. Phospha-Guard GFH is extremely effective in a fluidized reactor where slow abrasion slowly erodes the surface of the media, thereby continually exposing a new surface area to absorb phosphate.

    DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
    Rinse with RO water before adding placing product into the tank to avoid discolouration of aquarium. Phospha-Guard GFH must be placed in a very high-flow area and is ideally used in a reactor, but, will also work in a MICRON ION-X 200-micron mesh bag that has been placed in a very high-flow area.If you are using a phosphate remover for the first time, you will use larger amounts initially. Use 0.5ml to 1ml per litre of aquarium water and once phosphate levels have reached below 0.10ppm, maintain with 0.25ml per litre of tank water. Some fines will be generated initially and will cause some cloudiness, this will not harm any animals and will clear in a few hours. DO NOT LET PRODUCT DRY OUT as this will severely limit product performance, always keep Phospha-Guard GFH wet / moist. If Phospha-Guard GFH has been used in a media bag, massage bag gently every few days to rotate media and increase effectiveness. Always use a mechanical filter to keep organic wastes from covering the media as this will limit the products performance.

    WHAT MAKES PHOSPHA-GUARD GFH SUPERIOR TO OTHER PRODUCTS:
    The amount of hydroxyls that are present in a media will directly affect the performance of the media. Simply put, there are more available sites for the Phosphate, Silicate and heavy metals to attach to and it will attach more aggressively. Other GFH products were designed for mains water treatment facilities. The pH standard in water treatment is pH 7.0 while the pH of Phospha-Guard GFH is between a pH of 8.3 to 8.5. This not only insures that no pH drops occur in the marine aquarium, but, the media will also absorb Phosphates, Silicates and heavy metals more aggressively. Phospha-Guard GFH is made specifically for aquarium water and has been designed to specifically address the problems and challenges that aquarium water generally has. Phospha-Guard GFH can also be regenerated 3 times over with Phospha-Guard RE-CYCLE making the product far more economical than other products in it’s category.

    DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
    Mix 200g of RE-CYCLE in 1.5lts warm tap water (do not use hot or boiling water). This will regenerate approximately 250ml of phosphate removal media. Soak Phospha-Guard in this solution for 24 hours. Cut the bottom of a 2lts plastic bottle off and make a small hole in the cap. Place the media in the bottle neck and add RE-CYCLE solution so that it slowly flows out of the hole made in the cap. The longer and slower the RE-CYCLE solution flows out the bottom of the cap, the more efficient the regeneration process will be. Rinse media in the same manner with 4lts RO water before returning back to tank.

    CAUTION:
    RE-CYCLE contains inorganic salts of carbonate and chloride which has a high pH. Wear protective eye-wear and rubber gloves. Do not add phosphate removal media until it has been rinsed according to instructions as this could be detrimental to corals and fish. Phospha-Guard RE-CYCLE is harmful if swallowed. If accidently ingested, drink water and seek immediate medical attention. May cause eye or skin irritation. If contacted with eyes, rinse with water for 15 minutes and seek immediate medical attention. If contacted with skin, wash thoroughly with water. Keep out of reach of children. Not for human consumption.
