Seeing as we are dealing with a different animal for NO3 /PO4 reduction i have been thinking a little (amazing i know) and was wondering if the cubes can be run in a trickle filter type set up?

    Just curious

Why not? enough agitation, enough flow, should work fine. Only thing I see is that they must be closely packed, not like sardine, but enough that each cube gets water trickling over it.

sure the reason i as is so that certain sumps can be easily converted to the cubes... another is that rather than have them insump they can be fed via the overflow (prefiltered of course) to avoid an extra pump or reactor being needed, i want to provide the cleanest enviroment for the cubes to work in to obtain optimal performance ;)

also and one last point if the pellets are fed via your overflow or a return line branced off you are more likley to pick up if the pump if faulty as you would notice a lack of waterflow in the DT immediatley!
