You know what. It might be a good idea to have a proper junior section where only juniors can post. Let them do their own little thing in their forum. I am sure we will all be surprised how they manage and and the ideas that come out of there. Dean if this comes about we would be happy to sponsor a few prizes for various things. Most youngsters struggle to finance their tanks and i am sure some of the other wholesalers will sponsor the odd additive/food/water conditioner etc... It may even bring in a whole new young group of reefers.

Of course the juniors should also be included in the main forum as this is where most of the experience and knowledge is transferred.

We've had a few requests for it for a while now, I've just never really got around to it. I think there is some legal aspect to it too, although that may be only for under 13's. Children need to be handled differently and also need to be protected online. We as a website that encourages interaction between members really do need to be aware that there are children online and we should have a sense of responsibility to protect the younger members. For example, things like suggesting to a 14 year old girl to PM a man who would generally be considered as a stranger, should be discouraged. I have in the past had to issue stern warnings to two members that were contacting female members via PM on the forum and making very blatant 'suggestive' comments and offering to help them with their aquariums.

I'll put this on my suggestions list, but it's a very long list. :p

Carlos you are very fond of younger citizens and have children of your own, and, have a little spare time :whistling:. How about you mentoring a junior section of MASA.

    Thanks @viper357

The thought didn't even cross my mind. I was thinking along the lines of your advice and comments should be taken on merit and if people knew you were younger they may poo poo your ideas as "wise adults" but your point is well taken.

My profile says I am 3 years old. I can see my age but not edit it. Was born 1980 if a mod cares to help.
@carlosdeandrade I am the only under 16 that never get asked an ID when buying beer :)

I got asked my id in the UK recently. If I was a woman I would probably still be grinning. The bouncer explained that even if you are pushing 80 they ask for id to discourage non id carrying hooligans from coming to pubs/clubs.
