Easiest way to explain is to fill your basin up with water, then take glass and put it under the water, let it fill up, then turn the glass over under the water and pull it out slowly without letting any air in ;)

Thats understandable but with the glass upside down you create a vacume with the air and there is'nt a constant addition of water to it .... If you could do that then eventually the water will displace the air as with the top tank ... So gravity will suck all that water out of the top tank as it doing now but it looks like the uplift pump is stronger than the force of gravity so the tank emties faster than it fills ... but when thers no pump taking the extra water up??????

I'm thinking so...... Although there must be a way around this but it will have to do with creating a vacume to keep the water up in case of a power failure ... just can't figure it out.....

a pump sucks out the air, this then draws the water up, once that "chamber" is full a valve is closen on the line the air was sucked out, you can disconnect the suction pump but dont open the valve :p

Must be very frustrating to own one of these.

Imagine cleaning the inside of the glass. Lighting is another problem with the condensation on the glass top.
