Rapid LED is now supplying a built light unit called the ONYX. For those that have order kits, etc, from Rapid LED before how does this unit compare in terms of features and value for money?

    http://www.rapidled.com/onyx-by-rapid-led/

Welcome to ONYX by Rapid LED! We are proud to introduce our simplest yet most elegant product to date. ONYX has a built-in fan, anodized heatsink, rubberized cover, and 28 awesome LEDs in the following ratio for a wide spectrum and beautiful ~18k color temperature:
    • 14 CREE XT-E Royal Blue
    • 8 CREE XP-G Cool White
    • 4 Violet UV
    • 1 CREE XP-E Green
    • 1 Oslon 660nm Red
The ONYX has comparable, if not higher, PAR than an AI SOL and a broader color spectrum.
ONYX is built to last, looks great, will grow just about any type of coral you put underneath it, and the hanging kit won't cost you an extra $30 (included for free). This version of the Onyx is not dimmable, and is a simple on/off via one power source. We expect to begin shipping these units in mid-January, and will continue taking pre-orders until January 18th. Retail price on these units will be $279 once the pre-sale ends. For wholesale pricing and information please email staff@rapidled.com.

Don't you wish you had waited a bit, Butcherman? :)

That said, the fact that it's not dimmable is going to be a deal-breaker for many. I would love to have one of these though.
