To figure out if waterchanges will work then is to calculate the actual consumption over the next few weeks to get an average usage and then to do a work out what percentage waterchange is required. But this is still not advisable as your parameters are going to make bigger swings which does not help with keeping things stable.
And also take one other thing into consideration.... your percentage waterchanges or the frequence thereof will have to change if you ever change salt brands. Or even between different buckets of the same salt as their composition could vary.
