    Saw that this morning in one of the clothes cupboards... It was "flat" upside down til it saw me and then it started "hanging" like that...

    very aggressive but not venomous, but look as scary as hell
    one i caught in jan, the size of the Jar he is in has a diameter of 20cm

    they eat lizards etc...
    normally hide on light switches due to the warmth caused by the current, and then u put ur hand on it and wham what a surprise...

    egg sac is normally carried with them

    True spiders? What the hell are fake spiders?

    That first pic seems to have the same legs but quite a fat body... Maybe this one hasn't figured out there aren't any lizards in the cupboard yet so he's thin...

    Rory, just watch out - it's a Joburg spider, it might steal your fish and sell them back to the LFS...

    true spiders are "actual spider" other species (not true include wind scorpions from a different order)

    the spider you have there is also sometimes called a rain spider (PTA) comes out before the rain or wolf spider due to its wandering habits
    This is a new world spider Very good to have around and not dangerous...just agressive
