    Hiya all,

Just joined. Have always wanted a marine aquarium (had tropical fish tank many years ago), looking to learn a lot here! Im thinking of starting small (tank wise) and then eventually getting a larger tank one day as I have heard a marine tank is tough to maintain and costly.

    Cheers
    CF ;)

    Thanks again everyone ;)

Where is this, on the forum or is it a kit available in some pet stores?

    EDIT:

Ok, so I read that article. Man...I feel like a real noob...have noooo idea what is being talked about, well maybe 20%. I have soooo much to learn. It all feels a bit overwhelming...will start browsing the beginner section and see what I can learn.

Welcome - My advise - go bigger and save a bundle - you are going to upgrade within the first three months of having your NANO.

Thanks for the link, was an interesting read. I have seen many members say rather go a bit bigger and save instead of going small, then having to pretty much buy it all again. Added...also saw a thread about small vs larger - if a fish dies in a nano, higher chance of it getting contaminated compared to same situation in a bigger tank.

I know Im gonna want a bigger tank....thats a given. Will read up on tanks and what sizes to look at for a beginner. Dont want huge, but big enough to not make me want to upgrade a year later...

Well, I started with a small setup in the beginning of the year and it was running about 2 months and I wanted to go bigger.

For the first time go as big as you can, the bigger the better!! Believe me, you will want to kick yourself if you go with a small tank and just a few months in you want to go bigger!
