How much does the product cost (approximately)?

That is quite heavy - R360/100litres.

What do you think the effect would be if one dosed less than this initially and replenished more regularly i.e. spreading the spend over a longer period? Would it still be effective or do you need to add a lot of it upfront for it to work.

If it is some type of "inert" carbon dosing it shouldn't really make a difference - sort of like vodka dosing where the carbon source is added regularly over a period of time.

Carbon dosing and cubes dont work, the cubes make use of yeast...

It is better to use only cubes, & to use the recommended volume.
The reason for this is that if you add too little, they reach an equilibrium where they dont remove anymore nitrates.
I have found it to be better to add the recommended amount & then to remove about 5% a week if your nitrates drops below your preferred reading.
It truly is the best nitrate removal product on the market, & you will find that over the long run, it works out MUCH cheaper than any other product.

it would work still but not as effectively, so a good guesstimate example, you have 10ppm of NO3, and you must run 1L, but you run 250ml, then only 12.5% - 25% of NO3 would be consumed or something like that.. will work out the maths better later

its not a carbon dosing at all, its a marine yeast on a polymer host fuel cell, hence the saltiness which is the transport for the yeast

Is the "polymer host fuel cell" not some sort of semi-inert carbon source for the yeast growth? Slowly soluble in water releasing a small amount of carbon over time for the yeast to use in conjunction with the nitrates and phosphates?

That's what I meant by "form of carbon dosing"

The cubes is designed to NOT release or leach anything into the watercolum
