    Hi all!

My husband and I started our reefing adventure in November 2011, with a 180l Jewel tank. *i had my reserves about it (like many wives on masa I see when I read the threads) ,specially about finances... *
After being unhappy and worried about the hobby for a while, I was sitting at home one weekend, watching how this hobby really made him so happy, and I was so thankful that he was not out playing golf or fishing(nothing wrong with that) but i was happy his hobby enabled me to still spend time with him at home. * I decided to start enjoying it with him, and it has become our pride and joy... In a short period of time, he became an expert reefer ,and he time and time again patiently explains ammonia ,nitrate, nitrites, and all the processes to me. I still don't get it.. But i appreciate it! * Yesterday was a very sad day for us in terms of our reefing journey, which I might tell you about in a later post. But I just felt like posting a little motivation to him- he is the best refer i know, and can is always eager to help fellow refers and teach them more about reefkeeping ! * So I am starting a thread of our journey since that day we walked into a petshop in Ermelo to buy our first tank! I am so proud of how quickly he got from amateur to a fantastic reefkeeper (junkie I might add). * He is most interested in the chemistry side of things, so his water is always pristine. In terms of livestock he is a Zoanthida and Tang lover. * So watch this space for the pics of our journey! * And to all the refers, humor the wife! She has good reason for worrying a little, admit it:reefkeeping can be a bit of a black hole that money disappears into... But wives- why not try getting involved more rather than worrying too much..it's the best thing i could have done!

:welcomewave: Have fun! It's great to do it together with your loved one, like we do, not many have that opportunity.

    :)

I may have created the wrong impression of my wife. She is the most amazing and understanding woman any man could ask for. I messed up by misinterpreting her concerns as a lack of interest, and then went and did my own thing. That was what I shouldn't have done. My issues were not about the tank, it could have been a car, a bike, whatever.

Anway, we have had a long heart-to-heart about everything and it's all sorted. Both of us are looking forward to getting our new fishy critters!

My kudos go out to girlfriends and wife's ...... My GF goes through my tank swings. Luckily she has learnt that getting into the hobby with me is enjoyable and we can share together.

She even knows how to work out red fields how to do all the tests and how to operate my tank.

Kudos to you for trying and supporting your other half
