    Hi all

I have several of the Oddysea T5 dual lighting units, but my problem is that those metal extendable glass rests (or whatever you want to call them) on either side have rusted and I cant get them out.

Any one have any ideas on how to get them "unstuck"?

    Thanks

Normally you would just pull them but because of the rust they are stuck.

I just cut them off and rest them on glass braces across the tank

Disconnect the power to the unit, open it up and see if you can not locate the rail in which the extendible arms slide in and then spray some Q20 or a similar lubricant onto it. Then work it till it comes lose.

Yeh, the lube bit is the go!
Do you guys have WD40, that's the one for rust already there.
When I get new gear for the aquarium including a chiller, lights, fluoro ends, power lead ends, power boards, never anything that goes in water though, I go over it all with silicon spray and do this twice a year after a good clean each time and anything elec or metal lasts for ever!
