So I have decided to let the cat out of the bag.

I have committed to starting a new tank a while back, and have slowly collected bits and pieces from all over. Taking my time and trying to do it properly.

    New tank dimensions:
    1800x800x600

    Sump dimensions:
    1300x700x400

To date the following is standing and waiting:

    1. Tank Stand
    2. Reef Angel Controller with add-on's
    3. 2x Jebao RW-20 wave makers
    4. 1x JECOD DCT-4000 Circulation pump
    5. Skimmer - Reef Octopus 160 (looking to upgrade soon)
    6. Heaters
    7. Skims 150 reactor with 4L of Seachem Matrix (running in current system to "cure")
    8. Reef Octopus reactor (for phosphate remover)
    9. GHL Stand Alone doser (3 pumps)
    10. 50kg Aragonite

Tank and sump is paid for and waiting to be delivered. - Hopefully this weekend.

Sump is designed with the following chambers:
(Inflow)(filter socks) (+- 3L BioCubes) (Skimmer) (Refugium) (frag tank/acclimatization tank that sits as second display in cabinet) (Reactors) (Return)

DIY LED feature Paid for and waiting, but needs some upgrades, and parts is stuck in the postal system.... ARGH!
(this is a monster light to be controlled by the RA. over 450w leds plus a moonlight channel.)

I think that is the main parts - sure some things I have missed but will post photos soon. As always, let me know what you think.

A special thank you to two members on this forum @dallasg - for simply being a mountain of knowledge and ever so helpful with tips, ideas and being a soundboard and inspiration. @Francois for doing most of the hard work in this build :D thanks bud.

Cant wait for this thing to start now!

    Niel

Nice list of toys, agreed about the fish list. Where did you get those stand feet from?

    great stuff!!

just watch out for the cowfish, great fish but they do have ostrotoxin which can be deadly, never had it happen but just something to be aware of

The fish list is the wife's baby. Some changes but those would be the main lines. Tank feet are overbuild DIY's looks and works awesome.

@Nsteyn. Your tank looks awesome! I am busy setting up a tank with exact dimensions as yours.
What glass thickness did you go for?

Reason for the egg crate and 45degree cuts in pipe is that the inflow chamber will also house 2l Bio cubes, and I hope to have enough flow and aeration not to use an air stone.

How are your filter socks going to work now? I know with Biocubes you should put them right nexto the skimmer. Are you going to put filters inbetween your cubes and your skimmer?
