Is there any proven research that one is better than the other for carbon dosing?

I'm not sure if there is proven research that states which one is better or note efficient but from my personal experience with nopox I can say that probably nopox is more concentrated source of carbon than vinegar and IMO probably more efficient on the long run.. I am assuming this because Red Sea recommends slowly reducing the daily dosage as the nitrates and phosphates go down until it reaches about half of the initial dose where vinegar (I have no personal experience with it) I've read on the net the dose has to increase constantly I've read of people that have to dose 200ml of vinegar a day.

I read that vinegar is dosed at a rate of eight times more than alcohol but is used directly as it is the most broken down form of carbon!?

also read of cases where vinegar dosing caused sps to brown up. I had good results with nopox when I used it. a bottle really lasts a long time

Just curious, more then anything to be honest. I did read that someone was doing this in the other forums but as to how successful he was I am not sure, as I cannot find the link anymore.

Considering vodka is broken down to acetic acid imo it seems simpler just to dose acetic acid aka vinegar

I used vinegar a long time ago as an Aiptasia killing agent. It works, just inject them very very slowly. They dissolves... YEAH.

Using a very fine insulin needle, and the syringe holds 1ml. Use 1ml vinegar per 100L total system volume per day. Not sure 100% on the dosage, but based on the info available for Vodka dosing, there it is recommended to use 1ml per 100L

So at the same time I kill a few aiptasia, I also did the dosing.

    Howsit guys.

Was just wondering if one could employ vinegar dosing together with cubes or is it best to employ one method. Also could you dose vinegar to bring down nutrients occasionally or is it necessary to find the sweet spot and dose daily.

Vodka, Vinegar, Sugar are all carbon souces which provides food for bacteria. These bacterai use nitrates and phosphate which in turn brings down your nutrient levels.

Once equilibream is reached the system can only handle a specific poulation of bacterai, however by adding the above (carbos source) in controlled dosgages you can basically control the population of bacteria in a system. You have to find the sweet spot with dosing as too much and you can have a bacterial bloom.

Basicly its to get your system to ulta low nutrient levels.

Love it, used it on my nano, took about 2 to 3 weeks before you start seeing results but it worked like a charm, set it up with a doser and just forget it.
