Hi all, starting my 1st marine aquarium. Due to space constraints and it being my 1st tank I decided to go sumpless. I think the thought of a sump was a bit intimidating lol but I will get there...

If space is an issue why not look into a nano?

Thanks MistaOrange fo the MASA welcome. A nano was the initial plan but after some threads decided on the sumpless system

    Lol KeeganP
Well the recator is for running GFO and also running Activated carbon. I got the marine magine just to use as a top iff system for RO water to assist with keeping salenity stable. Still learning much so eager for any advise... we all had to statt somewhere right?

Seems like t5 gives a broader spectrum than the led or metal halides tho the trend is all about the shimmer. So thinking of the t5 unit with the ati bulbs and adding a kessil led for shimmer. But still researching the topic.

I AM SO GLAD YOU SAID WHAT YOU SAID... something i always tell my clients or whoever speaks to me about a tank build or set up is dont worry about the 'trend' and do what works for you, your tank, and your pocket

@Fuzzy yeah pretty much is a preference and seems like a lengthy debate on most forums but I am pretty set on the t5 with ati HO bulbs. Seen them on a tank vs a cree led, tho the shimmer was impressive the coral popped better under the t5.
