    Hi Every one!

I have just joined the community and would need some insight on how to constuct my sump Filter for my 2.4m marine tank.

I have a 4ft tank as a Sump filter which I need to fit a Skimmer, Filter media, Heaters and pumps to run this tank. I have not had a Marine tank in about 8 years and the previous tank had already been setup when I took it over.

What a is the bes way to make use of the 4ft tank and what filters are the best, Deep bed or normal or both and which should I put first?

The Displaytanks dimensions is 2400x650x600 thats around 900l, I am repairing the fron glass and have ordered a new on but they have polished the glass all round, is this a problem as I would need a smooth edge on the joining end?

There is support bracing allround on the inside.

    Kind Regards
    Francois:yeahdude:

    Welcome to MASA!

Thats a nice size tank you have. What are you planning to keep in it?
If your sump is only four foot, then it will be too small for an effective DSB for your size tank. Depending n budget/space, maybe look at getting a nitrate reactor instead of a DSB. Else youll need a much bigger sump.
What skimmer do you have (internal or external)?
Do you have any pics of the tank?

I will take some Pictures and post it, going in a display between inside and outside patio of the house and the builders are busy finishing the ceilings so want to install in about 2 weeks, How much space do I need for a deep sand bed Filter?

I want to keep some soft corral and community tank with little exotics.

Got a tight budget after building the house, not sure about what make the skimmer is but can be used internal or external and it's a little small so I will need to upgrade as the tank fills up.

Welcome. Your DSB needs to have around the same area as your DT.
