So I received my Nokia N8 yesterday. Wheather is still too kak to take photos, but I took a quick photo of my eldest just to show the pixels. Nothing special of the pic, but bad light, not too bad quality:

  Just checked the File info. F-Stop of 2.8:thumbup:

I read the other day some of them have power problems. Not sure if maybe it was the first batch but aparently they don't want to come on when off and had to be taken back to Nokia.
I also like this phone, just hope that problem is sorted.

Tobes, I really do hope it is sorted. I've been playing with the phone non-stop since yesterday, no problems as yet. It has it's disadvantages. Try phone a number and the voice recording operator asks you to press a 01, 02 or whatever. It takes getting used to. Have to open menus to do that. Searching for a phone number, takes time, and to phone someone, you have to like press 4 buttons just to get the phone to dial. Maybe there are easier ways, but I must still find them:blush:

That is the exact reason why I gave my fancy touch screen Samsung to my 13 year old daughter and I am back on my 19-voetsak Nokia 6234, and I tell you what, it feels so good to be able to send sms's and use the keypad like a normal person again. :)

The picture quality on your phone is damn good Sean, you seriously can't complain about that.

thanks Dean. I agree. I was thinking last night to maybe get myself an el cheapo small phone just for phoning and sms'es. And keep this one for taking pics,e-mails and browsing the net. With 12mp it is worth keeping in my pocket, but not for typing. Took me 3 minutes to type this message as i keep on pressing the wrong keys...lol

I like this phone & I'm in a situation where I'm contemplating on either the Nokia N8 or Samsung Galaxy Tab so confusing as both phones are great

Couple more pics- bare in mind that this was shot in very low light, drizzling rain. Compared to my previous phones, I must say that this is not bad, although it is definitely far from perfect, considering the light conditions, not bad.

One thing is for sure, it does not like low light and fast moving objects though:

    Hi Sean,

I have been seriously considering getting a N8 as well, but this is giving me second thoughts... After all, it's first priority is to be used as a phone!

Having now used it for a week, are you still battling with this, or did you find a way to cut out on all the key strokes? Would you still recommend this phone?

    Hennie

Sean, one of my contracts are up for renewal. I need to collect a new phone this week. Think I should grab it?
