Hi everybody

I newly started to setup a 150 g salt water aquarium. I have used live rack for nitrogen cycling to begin. I am also going to use fish food to support cycling. Is this correct decision ? Or, the only LR is enough for cycling?

thank you very much for your advise

Hi samandar, Welcome to MASA!
Can you tell us what else you have in your tank?
How much live rock do you have?
Some links you can read (borrowed from @Tobes)

Thachnicaly I have an oresun 9000A as circulating pump, a macro as 200 p as skimmer, an ehim 2252 power head pump and a saio prop 1500 for airing and waving the water.

hi and welcome

yes good idea to cycle with LR and provide a food source, add a small amount and test the water 2 days later, then test the next day, and see if the ammonia and nitrite go down. when they reach 0 add more food and test a day or 2 later and see if its 0, when it stays its a good indication that the system is getting ready.
do you plan to suppliment the bacteria with anything? seachem stability etc

Hi dallasg
Thank you for the detailed advice. I have already microbacter 7 of bright well. But I 'm not sure how shall I use it. I scare somehow for apply these things. I prefer to cycle the tank more naturally, although it would be take much more time.

what do you think? how shall I use the microbacter?
