Hoe are you running it? Reactor or bomb method?
When i first used it, i ran it in a fluidised reactor. Also had it do green then black slimy solid mat of goo around and in between cubes...
But it just kept on sucking NO3 out the water.

Have your nitrates gone up ? Any indication that it is no longer working ?
I put in a bag near my skimmer output. It was put there for a year and no problem. Only recently refill become dark and slimy. Nitrate has increase from 5ppm to 7ppm. Sps health seems to be declining. Lost a few colonies. try to upload photo from hp but dont seem have a function here to do that
How's your airpump?
Looks to me like not enough flow so bacteria has died. almost the same as what happens in a sand bed
